[SOLVED] How can I enable freen sync with 240Hz if I only have minidisplay port interface?

I recently bought a free sync (aka g sync compatible) monitor with a refresh rate of 240hz. And I heard only the DP cable can handle the free sync and 240Hz. But my laptop only has a mini dp interface. Is there any way I can enable free sync?

From what i have read it is literally the same as display port but it a smaller more confined space as long as you use the mini display port it will be able to handle 1920x1080 at 240hz, 2560x1440 at 144hz and 3840x2160 at about 75hz this is with display port 1.2

What model is your laptop?

Mini DP should be able to do 240hz, at 1080 at least. Depending on the version.

Mini DP is a type of DP interface. It's just a different shape connector.
