Question How can I fix screen flickering in all of my 3D applications?

All 2D applications run fine on my laptop but anytime I open up a 3D application, I experience extreme screen flickering. I have reinstalled windows, all drivers(including GPU driver) but nothing seems to work.

I have an Acer Travelmate laptop with the following specs-

1. Intel Core i5 7th Gen
2. 8 GB RAM
3. Geforce 940 MX (2GB)
4. 1 TB HDD
5. Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

Following are the 3D applications where I experienced this problem

1. CS GO (Screen flickers then, altogether crashes, only sound, no video)
2. DotA 2 (Screem flickers crazy)
3. Age of Empires 3 ( crazyscreen flickering in a game with very less prerequisites)
4. Paint 3D
5. Nvidia control panel (Flickering in that 3D rotating Nvidia logo )

Have you installed the latest graphics drivers provided by Acer?

Have you installed the latest graphics drivers provided by Acer?

I have installed all the drivers that come in the Acer DVD that comes with the laptop. All the drivers available for the acer laptop as per their website date back to when I purchased the laptop.

The only seemingly relevant driver was the chipset driver which I just installed.
