Hello everyone,
I have Lenovo Y700 laptop. It has Intel i7 core (Intel HD graphics 530) with Nvidia GTX 960M 4GB. Ram 16GB and has a SSD and HDD. Maybe the HDMI out version is 1.4 and my laptop has not any display port.
Recently I bought a Acer 4K monitor (KG281K) it supports 4K at 60 Hertz. Monitor input to HDMI port 2.0 version and one display port may be 1.2 version.
First I didn't know about the HDMI versions like what is HDMI 1.4 and what is HDMI 2.0 so i bought it blindly.
I had one HDMI 1.4 cable, I thought this will work but it only gives 4K at 30 Hertz, so I looked internet and order HDMI 2.0 cable from Amazon in the cable review section page they have said this cable is capable of 4K at 60 Hertz.
Then I see it's not giving 60 hertz at 4K resolution, its giving only 30 Hertz. If I do 1080p on the monitor so it runs smoothly in 60 Hertz.
After all the research I think maybe my laptop has not that HDMI 2.0 out version maybe it is a HDMI 1.4 so it cannot deliver the bandwidth is needed for 60hertz.
I really need your help please help me to get 60hertz at 4K resolution
Thank you.
