How can i know if i can upgrade my cpu to a better one.

Current specs:
RAM: 8gb ddr3
CPU: AMD(fx)4300
GPU: gtx 1050 ti
HARD DRIVE: 1tb

I would like to upgrade my cpu since i'm currently playing, let's say, PUBG at very low with barely 30 fps and continually dropping, I know it's still in alpha, but my friend has the same specs as I do but with a slight better cpu, I would like to know if I could upgrade it to a better one, I'd accept recommendations.

Cannot determine CPU support without the motherboard make/model. Also need to know the make/model or wattage of your PSU.

FX4300 is a 95W AM3+ CPU. Top of the line for AM3+ is an FX 9590 but it is a 220W beast, most mobos will not support.
