How can I run Sacred Gold on Windows 10 64 bit

I am trying to install Sacred gold on my windows 10 64bit machine but when I try to run it I get a message that says it can not run on 64 bit system.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Please do try running the game in compatibility mode that may do the trick.
- Right click on the Sacred Gold icon on your desktop screen then select Properties.
- Once opened, click on Compatibility tab and put a check on "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select XP.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again.
- If it will still not work, do try running in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or 8 as well.

I tried that and got the same message, this program is not designed to run under 64 bit.

The best way is to buy Sacred 2 gold on steam and run it through steam as it works fine on my 64 bit machine. Its not very expensive either. If you mean the 1st Sacred, its also on steam though no one really supports it anymore. Try 2, its so much bigger and better

Sacred 2 always had that problem, it never liked 64 bit. It was made in 2008 so it struggles even with win 7 compatibility. The devs went bankrupt from making game (global financial crisis didn't help them) so patches to fix things like this never came from them, the community made the patches instead.

Good game, played it for years. Now if only i didn't need to run it in windowed mode to get my mouse cursor to show up - combined with a 4k screen that makes for a very little window

Don't ever ever ever buy Sacred 3, its not the same game, its not even made by same people... its an insult. The people who really made Sacred 2 are making new game called Unbended on kick starter... one day

I know that this topic is old, but today I wanted to play again what is a great classic game and I had this same problem. I managed to solve it by running in the game folder (C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Sacred Gold) the config.exe and checked the "32 Bit Color Depth", "Filter Active" and "Video Compatibility Mode" .
