Yes, just turn off dhcp on BOTH routers and make sure to plug the lan cable from the 54G2 into a normal lan port, not a WAN port, on the 54GL. This will make it work like a normal switch.

I have a similar setup and trying to accomplish the same thing.

2 Cisco-Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Routers running DD-WRT.

1st router connects 2 PCs via LAN ports and one laptop via wireless, and its directly connecting to the broadband cable modem. (I am trying to run Server 08 Standard off this router via LAN port)

2nd router is downstairs setup as a wireless repeater bridge. Directly connected to it via LAN port is one desktop running Win 7, and more than likely PS3 via wireless signal.

I want to setup my first domain controller with AD, DNS, and DHCP on the server, then setup accounts and configurations to join my other 3 PCs to the domain.

However I receive a message that says the AD DC service cannot be reached when I attempt to join my Win 7 PC to the domain. I can ping the sever though by its IP address and computer name from my Win 7 PC.

Are you saying that I need to disable DHCP on both routers to allow the the sever to handle DHCP and DNS? Will what I'm trying to accomplish work?
