How can I speed up my laptop

My laptop is pretty slow. Is there any way I can speed it up? I know I cant upgrade the CPU (which sucks cause this ones only 1.65 GHz). If there is a way is it expensive or risky?

You can if you can put an ssd in your laptop which will make boot up times and application openings really fast it does involve taking your laptop apart and reinstalling the os though

As baconlover102 suggested, upgrading to an SSD would greatly benefit your boot times and applications will be alot faster than a traditonnal HDD. You could also upgrade your RAM to a greater amount to improve speed if you're hitting your RAM ceiling.
