Checking which DDR version is just based on the shape of the stick, each one is keyed differently.
Other than that, you would have to find a model number to really know anything else.

Also how do u even find what it is when it is in your PC? [strike]People said cpu-z but that only shows the storage / mhz, not the model... [/strike] Seems its under SPD then pressing the slot, that helps.
Crucials detector sort of works, you kinda figure it out with its suggestions but it doesn't really tell you.
