How can I turn off laptop microphone in windows 10?

Hello, How can I turn off or on laptop microphone in windows 10 when necessary? Laptop microphone is always on, is it normal?

Make and model of your laptop?

Start>Settings>System>Sound>Sound Control panel(on the left hand corner)>Recording tab>you should see an active device there which should be your mic, you can disable that from there. There's also another option to mute your mic using a GUI, provided your laptop came bundled with an add-on app for your laptop audio, like Maxx Audio Pro if you're on a Dell laptop.
