How can I unlock a password protected micro sd card??

I've recently come across an old micro sd card of mine but when I put it in my phone it says that a password is required. I don't even remember locking the card in the first place let alone consider what the password might be.

Do you guys know any legit way through which I can unlock the micro sd card? I've tried numerous stuff from sites but they're all pure crap and don't work.

Tom's policy is that bypassing passwords is a no-go zone.

Thus this cannot be discussed here, not that I know any special ways around it either.

Can you remember if you had a PIN set on the phone you last used it in? That might be worth a try, if you can remember what it was. Otherwise, it's just a case of trying to think back to when you were using it and "reverse engineer" the password by guessing what you might have chosen. It worked for me once with an encrypted archive I found on an old floppy disk from my school days, but it wasn't quick (and wasn't really worth the effort anyway, as it turned out).
