How can I use a 128gb micro SD card in a device that allows 32GB max?

I have a dash cam that uses 32GB cards, I have other video recording devices that I have taken a 64GB card and formatted to a FAT32 with GUI Format and has worked. What is going on between the device and the card that won't allow it to use a larger card even though it's formatted in FAT32? I'm trying to understand the language or communication between the devices.

The dashcam in question is a papago 520 and 32GB will only give me 4 hours but I would like to occasionally record for 12 hours without having to overwrite anything. Could I create multiple partitions or would my PC only see the primary? If I create multiple 31 or 32 GB partitions the card will work but probably because the primary is 32GB or less.

How could I format or partition a SD card that it thinks it's 32GB max but will continue to fill the card without running out of space? There must be a way....all help appreciated.

Edited to add: If I insert the card with the entire 128GB of the card formatted in FAT32, the camera reads "No SD Card"

Is there something special about 128gb cards? What I'm unclear about is I have and still use a 64 gb card, formatted in Fat 32, and can fill up the entire card. This is in another older camera so I'm trying to understand why this one doesn't work.
