How could I use DBAN to wipe my Hard Drive without a recovery disc?

So basically my HP computer didn't come with a recovery disc because there is a recovery partition on the hard drive, as seen here:

Now I want to completely wipe my hard drive, and as you guys know, doing so also wipes the OS. Which means I will need to reinstall it through a recovery disc/partition. But the problem is that, at least as far as I know, there is no way to get DBAN to target only the C: partition. Which means it will destroy the recovery partition.

Am I wrong? Is there a way around this? Any help would be appreciated, I'm willing to try anything.

Also how many passes would you guys recommend?

But that doesn't securely overwrite it. I want to make sure who ever gets this computer next won't be able to find any of my personal and financial info.

How would I check if I could do that?

Go to hp.com and find the original owners manual. If you can do it, it will be in there somewhere.

I ran into the exact same problem with DBAN. I didn't want to wipe my entire computer. I've started using a program called SystemSaver and it has been great. It permanently deletes your personal data while maintaining your operating system and its programs. I've used it multiple times on different computers and I've never had any problems with it. It's the best one that I've found out there. Good luck!

No, this will NOT make it so that someone could not recover your files. This will still leave your files vulnerable to recovery. This is a solution to get the OS working again if a few files for it were corrupted missing or damaged ONLY. This idea will not take care of the slack space between files, or the overall free space chunk on the drive. To take care of those area's you would need to use SystemSaver, SystemSaver-Pawn, and/or SecureClean can also do this type of thing on a regular scheduled basis.

I work for WhiteCanyon..

i was saying to install a fresh copy of windows and install drivers. this way you could navigate to windows.old and retrieve files
i now the recovery partition is easier but then you get all of the crap ware back.
you can get the drivers online at hp.com.
forget live usb now that i think of it the real disk would be better.
if your one to like windows 8 then you can upgrade also.
also d ban does not target specific partitions it was created to destroy data don't use it it is a last resort.

it has been a long time since my last post.
