How do I activate the password lock on the canvio slim 1tb Toshiba external hard drive?

New at this and not very IT savy! All the files have been copied to the Toshiba canvio slim 1tb external drive. Now I need to turn the password on. Is there a master password that locks the whole thing in case it gets into the wrong hands?simple instructions please 🙂

Hi there Novice user1,

I believe the HDD manufacturer has a password tool which you will have to download and install. Though, I can't really provide you a direct link. Just google it. Apart from that, there are some third party tools that can set password as well.
