How do I backup my windows 8.1?

Hi, I upgraded my windows 7 to windows 8.1 (genuine) I'm sorry but I'm new to this kind of stuff so: How do I backup my windows 8.1?

My cousin give me a serial code for windows 8.1 which is I used to upgrade my windows, but I don't know how to back up, since I dont own the physical copy how do I re-install my windows 8.1 if I want to fresh format/install it again.

Create a Restore Point (Google it) if your pc is working OK. Then if you have a problem you can do a System Restore - back to that point.

if I want to totally format my hdd or if my hdd died how do I get my licensed windows 8.1?
