Am looking for a way to do the light boost hack on my Asus vg248 but using a console (ps4) & while using a dual link dvi or display port cable in stead of hdmi? Is this achievable ?

Solution
No it is not. Also because the "Light boost hack" is achieved using software on a PC that you can't run on your PS4, and the PS4 can only connect via HDMI, so you can't take advantage of the high refresh rate of the VG248QE either.

You do still get the benefits of the low input lag, but that's the best it gets unfortunately.

CraigN may be right about this. I know on my PS3 I used a HDMI to DVI cable to run video to my computer monitor. As for my PS4 I'm not sure if this is possible since I have not tried. You would then need to be using surround sound via optical or just the PS4 headset to push audio out to you.

did you get the 144hz with the HDMI TO DVI cord? or was it still 60?
