I wanted to transfer between my Acer E5-553G-F79R and my Asus X200CA. The reason why i wanted to transfer files is that im running out of space in my acer laptop, and i wanted to backup my files into my asus laptop.

I'm currently at work. I forgot to bring my LAN cable. I have to copy my files immediately because i have to download my work files and i dont want to delete files in my acer laptop.
So i came up with this idea, copying files with usb type c over laptop. Will it work?

Solution
Same as over ethernet cable. Connect to same router, share folder on one laptop, access shared data over network and copy over.

I'm assuming you still can't. I believe it can actually harm your computer. I'm a bit out of date when it comes to that. But for older USB it was definitely not a good idea and wouldn't work. Unless you used a bridged USB cable https://www.walmart.com/ip/HotHigh-Speed-USB-PC-To-PC-Online-Share-Sync-Link-Net-Direct-Data-File-Transfer-Bridge-LED-Cable-Easy-Copy-Between-2-Computer/839907412?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=13673&adid=22222222228130631666&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=237023671157&wl4=pla-389070885339&wl5=9005166&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=117879223&wl11=online&wl12=839907412&wl13=&veh=sem

You could try use a free cloud service like google drive and upload to that then down load to the other. Or obviously a simple USB flash drive. Or if you have a memory sd card in your phone and the adapter laying around.

Depending on the size, I often just email stuff to myself

Thank you, I appreciate your help :) I never thought that will harm my computer.
Anyway, Instead of copying files through google, or buying a bridged usb cable. Are there any way beside than that. Can I transfer files with WiFi. How do I transfer files with WiFi network? Is it possible
