I have a long chunk of text in MS Wordpad that has various bits bolded and I want to copy it into Google Docs, but when I copy paste the formatting gets lost. When I use Word as a proxy the formatting is retained, but there seems to be a paragraph break added after every paragraph (which is NOT there in Word) when I copy it into Docs.

I'm pulling my hair out over here and I'm losing it anyway, so you fellas better help me here. How the hell do I copy this text into Docs and retain the formatting?

From Google

The best way to preserve your formatting is to convert your document first to Google Docs format rather than cutting and pasting from the .rtf file.
  1. Open Google Drive or Docs.
  2. Right-click the file you want to convert.
  3. Select Open with > Docs.
  4. Select File > Save as Google Docs.
What I end up doing.

Cut and Paste to LibreOffice Writer then cut and paste to google.
