How do I delete all the files off my seagate go flex. I just want the external hard drive wiped clean.

all the information on my hard drive I no longer need, I just want it deleted. It says the files are locked and I cannot unlock them to manually trash them. Is there a way to delete everything on my external hard drive?

Format it NTFS with Admin rights.

That is what I want, but what exactly is a full format and how do I do that? Thanks so much

Right-click on the drive in Explorer, choose format and when you get the prompt for quick vs full format, select full.

A "quick format" simply erases the root file system structures but leaves the data otherwise intact. A full-format overwrites all addressable data on the drive to check for bad sectors, rendering data unrecoverable through conventional means.
