How do I delete bkf files in xp?

My hard drive is 99% full. I need to delete backup files .bkf. Asearch of the local disc C does not find thess files. How do I find these files and how do I delete them?

They probably don't exist. Look at what you do have there and decide what is junk and delete it.

Look in c׃/Windows for folders that start with a dollar sign ($)and delete them too.
