Hi, I have an I7 860 on a P7P55D Pro. When I was installing the CPU, it fit fine, but you know the little lever you are suppose to pull to pull down the metal thing to hold the CPU in place? I had a hard time with that because it seems the CPU's height cannot fit under there, I did manage to close the thing though, but scratched alittle paint off the point of contact between it and the CPU(top of the CPU, not pins on the bottom). It did not occur to me at the time that maybe some pins didn't go into the sockets so it is sticking out a bit but now I think it might of happened.
So basically how can I tell if some of the pins on the CPU didn't get into the socket and got damaged while I was pulling the lever down with opening the whole thing up and taking out the CPU to check?
My PC runs fine now, but I don't know just how fast the I7 should be so i don't know if I am running slow, but I can play games for 4 to 5 hours straight without problems, computer has also not crashed once.
So am u worried about nothing and that it is a tight fit with the I7 860 and the P7P55D Pro or should I be worried? And is there a way to know if the pins are ok with taking out the CPU to check?(like constant crashes or extremely slow?)
