Hello Everyone,

I currently have an ASUS-Z170-PRO-GAMING motherboard as stated in the title which is suffering from slow boot times as described in this post I made a while ago.

To clarify, as stated in my previous post I have tried disconnecting all hard drives and external devices which made no difference. Also I find it weird that I get literally nothing on my screen for a full 15 seconds after my computer has (audibly) turned on but windows shows last bios time to be always ~20 seconds.

I have read in a lot of places that disabling unnecessary devices in my bios may help however there's a lot of stuff in there and I don't wanna break anything xD.

In my previous post which I linked to above I also listed my computer components. That in mind could anyone possibly tell me what I should be disabling in my BIOS and where/how I should do that to possibly resolve this issue.

Wow thanks for the quick reply ! Yes I already have all that set up.

onlt thing really to disable in the bios would be sata/raid controllers you arent using as those can take a few seconds checking if there are disks connected to them or not

other thing is maybe its your monitor thats not responding quickly enough

how long from powering on till you get the desk top

As soon as I click the power button I hear/see my computer start up. After 15 seconds my screens show signs of life and the desktop comes on between 25-30 seconds (im not sure exactly because I have a password screen first )

25--30 seconds doesnt sound excessively long especially if thats including typing in a password

just think it may be your monitor isnt responding immediately for some reason

never actually timed how long mine takes to get to the desktop

but wouldnt really provide a comparison anyway since i have a complicated boot option so it delays a few seconds there to give me the choice which operating system or recovery partition etc i want to choose

Sorry I wasn't clear I didn't include my password typing in the bootup time I just added a few seconds on from when I got the login screen. Honestly it makes no difference to my life however I have another crappy computer which responds much faster on power up on the same screens incidentally(takes ages to load OS though) and this one has all high quality parts and doesn't which I feel just doesn't add up :/
