Ok so you know the card works. Have you tried using the display on another computer? Or a different display input (Dvi, hdmi, vga)? If you try another input and it works, try the normal plug you use on another computer. If it fails see if the cord is bad by swapping it, if you don't have one to swap with put card in other computer and hook up as normal. If it does not display it could be the cable for video or the screen itself... to verify the back light is not dead turn monitor on while computer is running. Hold flashlight direct on screen, if you notice your desktop or icons faintly the lights in the screen died and you need a new monitor...
I know it's a lot of steps but that will tell you if it's the screen or cable (since we know the card is good)
