How do I fix my drivers?

I recently got a new ASUS STRIX GTX 970, and I never uninstalled my old drivers before I brought it into the shop for them to install. My graphics card is performing just as good as my old one did, and it should be able to do much more and not give me low fps in game. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it because I never uninstalled the old ones? Thanks

I have fixed it. It was simply because my monitor was plugged into the wrong hdmi.

I tried to do this and it did not work. We are taking it back to the shop today, if they tell us what was wrong, I will post it here for anyone that might be having the same problem. Thanks for the advice though.
