How do I get files off my broken laptops hard drive

I have removed the hard drive and put it into a case and plugged it into another laptop using a usb port. I can see the drive but none of my personal files and when I click on a program file it says I don't have access. The casing I put the hard drive in is made by Dynex.

it means you do not have administrative privlages try simply copping the whole thing see if that works

And if that doesn't work, download a Linux OS and run it as a LiveCD - it's far less precious about Permissions than Windows is.
