How do I get my printer back online

I am running windows 7 Prof. when I try to print my printer keeps saying it is online although when I ask the computer it says printer is offline???

If it's a USB printer, disconnect the data cable for 30 secs.

Hi Ryan,it has gone back to working again,I ran the troublshooter but it said my printer was a 3100???I disconnected the printer & cable,reconnected both cables then restarted my computer & it seems to have gone back online.Many thanks anyway will certainly get in touch again if I have any problems
