Those are about the cheapest used parts you can buy. Used parts are cheaper. You could pick up a used monitor for maybe $50 locally, other than that you could look for old pc's being sold for cheap.

Personally, I'd go out and try to get that extra few bucks to get these parts. Definitely go for that monitor; you cant get 1080p that cheap (Even if it doesnt come with shipping costs.)

Just to avoid painful mistakes, make sure the cpu you have fits the socket on the motherboard.

Please. For $250 you can get X58 with an Intel Core i7-920. For $175 you can get i5-2400 with a MicroATX H61 motherboard. I don't get the point of the post at all.
