I almost got my first PC assembled, but I can't get it properly working though.
Power works, but screen doesn't react and no bios bleep.
Dunno anymore what to do with the cables, the rest is plugged in.

*MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr OC 2Gb.
*Antec 302 full-tower
*CX500M modular power supply
*Intel Core i5-4670 processor
* MSI B85M-P33 motherboard
* Western Digital WD10EADS 1TB SATA hard drive (my old 1 incl Windows)
* Asus VW246H hdmi monitor
*Samsung SSD 840 EVO
* Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4GB DDR3-1600 RAM
*LG optical drive (old 1)

optical drive connected to power supply with molex on peripheral, SSD and HD connected with SATA.
Everything seems to run (at least all the fans, incl. graphics card, but no startup nor screen.
Could it be the SATA connection, the non filled SSD or any misplugging?
Have had a screen in the beginning that said that I should hook up my graphics card, so I did (forgot). After that: no reaction from my monitor anymore..

Solution
Try re-seating your ram. If that doesn't do it try using other sticks of ram. Check all connections and make sure they're good. Always try the easy stuff first.
Installed Windows on SSD, plugged it into SATA port 2.
EFI SHELL started up. Typed: exit. Came into BIOS.
Had to set SSD as first for starting up and change CDHI (or something like it:ange:) to IDE.
Swapped the cables around on the PSU, what the... it worked!
This is the short version ofcourse. Took a while before I found out.
Now I have to buy a dvd-player first, since I can't use my old one (no SATA, read it on this website).

Seems all worked out! THANK YOU ALL WHO HELPED AND THOUGHT WITH ME!!!!

Congrats on getting it to work! glad we helped

And haha, really funny that the primary SATA controller was set to AHCI, which is probably why it wouldn't let you set it as a primary drive. AHCI allows you to hot-swap SSD's like its cool, but for that reason does not allow an AHCI drive to operate as your primary logical drive. It might have accidentally set it to that mode because of an un-plug re-plug accident while it was running, so that might have caused the problem :)

Good luck, and hope it runs for years!

Tnx cj,

but 1 mayor prob keeps existing.. The GTX isn't found!
I put my old graph card in, and it was immediatly found..
*Replugged,
*Cable switch,
*Starting without it and later with it,
*Bios update

Is there something else I could think about?

You should make sure to install the newest versions of DirectX and your Nvidia GPU drivers.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Click these and install the correct ones according to your hardware.

If you open device manager, either hit Windows+F and type in "Device Man" and sort it by Applications or Services to find it in Windows 8.

If windows 7, just hit Start and type in Device Manager.

Under 'Display Adapters' it should list your GTX there, if it has a yellow exclamation point on it, install the drivers manually from the properties settings there by directing it to the extracted Nvidia drivers folder. If you get to that point, let us know here.

If you card doesn't show up under 'Display Adapters' whatsoever, go to the Misc. dropdown section in device manager and see if there is a generic device that hasn't been installed that may look like your GPU. Do the same thing that I stated above.

Another thing you should do is install whatever software was included with the Graphics Card. You could have some manufacturer-specific drivers included in the box. (or utilities that contain drivers)

I can't install the drivers from the cd-rom, they don't show up. Installed the rest of the things on there. Nvidia site Says I don't have the hardware installed, so I can't download the drivers.
Dx11 was one of the first things I installed.

Will try the provided link, gotta unpack the card first.. In another part of the forum it was declared doa :)

Since it seems to be doa, I sent it back.
Tried the install, but still nothing. The neighbor didn't have time to check my card there, so we gotta keep it to doa. Will sent info when I know more :)
