how do i hook up a new wireless router and disconnect old one?

Solution
Unplug the old router and plug the new one in. You will have to re-configure all the settings such as wireless networks, firewall, etc. If you have a switch, just plug the new router into the extra Ethernet port and configure it. Then when it's configured, disconnect the old router. You can run two networks with two routers if you want to just leave the old one around. Or set up the old one as an AP.
