Question How do I Install Ubuntu on a specific HDD partition?

I have a laptop running Win10 installed on the SSD and a HDD which is divided into 2 partitions of 205Gb and 711Gb. I want to install Ubuntu on the smaller partition and let it use only the smaller partition for it's use and not touch the bigger partition at all, essentially isolating it to one partition only.

Would like to know if this is possible at all. If yes, how should I go about doing the same?

For windows/linux dual boot you'll need

a separate fat32 bootloader partition,​

ntfs windows OS partition and​

linux fs partitions for linux OS and swap (for example ext3 fs).​

If you don't have a separate bootloader partition, then that needs to be created first.

1. First I'd delete all those recovery partitions. 8 recovery partitions - this is insane.
2. You'll not be able to install ubuntu in 205GB partition on Disk 0. It is NTFS partition and it is not empty.
3. Delete and shrink existing partitions to make enough free/unallocated space for linux partitions.

Then run linux install. It will guide you through process of creating necessary partitions.
