How do I install whole home dvr without calling a company

I would like to install whole home dvr system without being charged to do so can anyone assist me? Where do I begin? My company is so ridiculous with their prices.

Are you planning on using the service provider's hardware? Most whole-home DVR systems work either via WIFI or via MoCA. The play programs just like watching a YouTube video on a table.

More info on the model of DVR and the type of infrastructure you already have (coax going to the spots you want another box, etc) will be needed to give you a more detailed answer.
