How do I go about installing windows 10 onto a new SSD that I plan on adding to an unopened, new prebuilt. The prebuilt already has an HDD installed with Windows 10 on there. So should I boot up the computer first before anything, and then after installing the SSD? After installing the SSD with Windows 10, what do I do next? How do I clear the HDD of Windows 10. And also, do I have to install drives to the SSD? The prebuilt is a Dell Inspiron 5675. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071ZZF7FY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thank you so much.

Yes formatting...
Hi timmy :)

Your best method is to do a new installation of Windows 10 using the Media Creation tool.
Go here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10

Download the ISO file to an empty USB stick of min 8GB.
Disconnect your HDD for now which you can reconnect with later.
Have your USB with the media installed as your Boot priority in Bios and complete the installation.

You can then connect the HDD (last in the boot priority) and once in Windows you can format the HDD.
Just make sure to backup any important files before formatting.

1. Boot up the PC and get the OS activated before you do anything else.

2. Read and do this before you change any parts:

3. Install the SSD, disconnect the HDD, install the OS on the SSD.
How to do a CLEAN installation of Windows 10

By formatting the HDD, does that delete everything on it including Windows 10? If so, I have to download the drivers right?(which is not a problem to me.)

Yes formatting the HDD will erase all. Clear CMOS prior to instal of the OS and the correct drivers will instal for Windows 10.
