How do I keep from frying my motherboard?

I am planning on switching out my PSU for a high quality one. I live in a carpeted apartment and I have a cat. My room has a grounded outlet. What should I do to stay absolutely grounded? More specifically, what part of the case do I touch to stay grounded? Should I buy an anti-static wristband? If so, where do I attach the alligator clip?

as long as you tuch the case first before you pull the power supply you be fine. just try from petting the cat or walking around till the unit is swapped.

I can't tell which part of my case is unpainted, it's all black. Also, doesn't touching the case only work if the power supply is mounted in the case and plugged into a grounded outlet?
