Im buying what i need for a gaming pc and i cant find out if the motherboard i want supports 32 or 64 bit as it has been a really big problem for me.

Solution
check motherboard specs...
Only for very ancient MBs will you find it only supports 32 bit OS...
Do you have more details?
What components do you have in mind?
Budget?

As an added comment, might you be confusing that Windows 32-bit only utilizes 3.5GB of memory max, meaning that if you have say 8GB of system memory it won't utilize it whereas 64-bit Windows will? It has nothing to do with modern day hardware and is only based on the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows.

Thats great... after trail period is up, thats not legal. Just because you do it doesn't mean its right.

Just for completeness, from my Asus Transformer:

But to the OP...Win 10 Home 64bit is what you're looking for.

NP, only comment is you may need to purchase win10 later on, so save some in case MS ended the trial :) Good luck and come back if you face any issues with building.

Trying to save money due to Canada charges 8-13 % VAT on top of pcpartpicker prices.... From 3000 to 3200, the diff is pretty small compared to 2666 to 3000, it should suffice.

There is no "trial" for WIn 10.
Either activated ($90 USD), or Unactivated.

Unactivated runs fine from Day 1 and continuing. It starts the restrictions right from the start....the sometimes appearing watermark at bottom right, and no customization of the desktop or taskbar.

Previous Windows versions had a specific 'trial period'. 30 days. After that increasing levels of pain and nag, eventuallly a black desktop and shutting off once an hour.

Read what I said afterward. At lunch there was no x32 version of Windows 10. Only upgrades. I know because I had multiple clients complaining to Microsoft about this because their software was only x32 compatible. I even called MS on this myself.

Times have changed.

As for "trial" it appears you are correct. I'm thinking evaluation mode which only applies for Enterprise version of Windows 10.

As for other versions of Windows 10. You lose the following:

No Theme Changing
No Lock Screen Options
No More Customizations
Not All Realtime Updates (but some)
And many other features which comes with genuine windows

In either case. It is bad advise to provide to some one to state "just use the trial" or unlicensed version. Especially when it affects realtime update.

Might as well tell them to go use Windows XP because its free now...

@androbourne

Of course there is some limitation on non-activated win10, otherwise nobody is paying.
On the updates you mentioned, yes, it will block optional updates but important updates are still being done, which is enough for me.
If you are under tight budget, I don't see that is bad advice, given the OS is 150 bucks in Canada.

There you go. But, and it is a HUGE but, that is from the TH Editorial staff (not the moderation team) that may or may not have actually tried using those keys over time.

From experience with many users, cheap keys often don't work or get deactivated, they may come from VL users that may hit limits or wherever. Just sayin' there is some chance involved with that road. OTOH we know that an unactivated version will work, just with less features.

Good luck out there folks. ;)
