More info?)
If you have Norton Internet Security (NIS) installed, you already have an
anti-virus....Norton Anti-Virus is part of the NIS suite:
http://www.symantec.com/sabu/nis/nis_pe/
Read the Help file to learn how to configure the different modules. Most likely the
anti-virus is already enabled, and but the other modules (Norton Privacy Control,
Norton AntiSpam, and Norton Parental Control) may or may not be turned on by
default. The anti-virus must be updated on a regular schedule, and this is done
with the automatic Live Update feature installed with Norton (Symantec) products.
The fact that the computer came with NIS already installed may mean that it is only
a limited-time trial version which may expire after only a few months.
I don't use or care for any of the Symantec products, so I can't give you much more
info on configuring them, than that. Hopefully someone who has used the products
will give you more info. I always uninstall the trial Norton or McAfee products and
install lower-cost or free programs that do the same thing, less obtrusively.
