i already know that it has the extra wires and ports needed for it but im having a hard time making sure that it's compatible software side f someone could help me out that would be amazing also if this isn't compatible why? and what should i be looking for?

yes that drive is fine & completely compatible, but I seriously hope you're getting a REALLY good deal on that machine, cause it is very outdated & will NOT be suitable for anything that needs lots of horsepowah, like, maybe gammin ?

And software really has nuthin to do with compatibility....

Office work, sure, but not much else...
