Hello friends,

My old guard desktop pc have an old ddr3 ram 16GB, however hwinfo64 don't show temperature about her. She is a very good wife and works. Games like Hogwarts Legacy requires and eats up all the RAM as I see on task manager. %98 RAM usage by this game. Never saw something like this before, so naturally I worry about lifespan of my RAM if I play that game longer periods of time. Using that much of a RAM/memory can cause higher temps on the piece? I just resloted the stick a few weeks ago because she got loose. I do not wish to mess with her again. Angry wifes are no good for mental health. Any ideas? Thank you!

As long as you don't give RAM too high voltage, percentage used doesn't matter for life span.

I did not change anything with the RAM, it is same config since the day we purchase it I guess but I never mess with voltages in my things. HWINFO shows these: pagefile file usage, physical memory used, physical memory available, physical memory load under SYSTEM category. Plus 3 entries of virtual memory.

7.42 HWINFO version.

Hard to say what system sensors you have or even whether what they report is accurate. Typically want to keep an eye on "system" which is typically the board temp. VRM, if monitored will be a hot spot alongside CPU. I have never actually reached into a PC and felt RAM sticks particularly hot which is also why I am not familiar with them having a sensor to read.

Glad to hear a system of this age is working well for you. Enjoy.

Pagefile file usage goes up when physical memory approaches full, it plays role ofd physical memory but its much slower because it's on disk. Looks like you need more RAM.

Thanks all, Motherboard temp is currently 24c and there is indeed VRM entry under the mobo category, VRM is 30c idle writing this on firefox. Description of VRM follows: "Voltage regulator temperature, in most cases (except ASUS) the external temp read from a diode in VRM area." My mobo is indeed ASUS plus there is some other entries as well such as Temp4,CPU(socket),CPU (weighted value)
