How do i make cloned drive the correct size?

I recently cloned my 1 tb to my new 2 tb drive. Now my 2 tb is only a 1 tb. How can i fix this? I tried to extend the partiotion in computer management but its greyed out. Any help would be great thanks

Not necessary. There might be another partition after the one that @Anonymous V2 wants to extend.
That's why I'm asking for screenshot.

that's how it looks currently. I had to put my old drive back in because i'm pretty sure the tool i used the first time erased my boot manager from my new drive.

Delete recovery partition (450MB). Then you'll be able to extend.
I'm not sure Disk Management will allow deleting of recovery partition. Either use Minitool partition wizard or you can use Diskpart utility also.

So i did that and now my pc says bootmgr is missing. Press ctrl alt delete to restart.
I looked for fixes online and nothing works. I made sure my boot order in my bios is correct. And everything is plugged in right

1. The problem is that your 2 TB HDD (the destination drive of the cloned contents of the 1 TB HDD) System Reserved 100 MB partition is not marked "Active"; apparently the MiniTool program caused this problem or some other factor was involved.

2. So use Disk Management to select the 100 MB System Reserved partition and select the option "Mark Partition as Active". I assume you know how to do this.

3. Shut down the PC and if practical, disconnect the present 1 TB boot drive from the system. Boot to the 2 TB HDD as the ONLY drive connected. Assuming all is well, you can later re:connect the 1 TB HDD as your secondary drive.

(BTW, while I like the MiniTool Partition Wizard as a partition management program I would not recommend its use as a disk-cloning program. There are better programs in my opinion, e.g., Macrium Reflect, Easeus Todo, AOMEI Backupper and the one I generally use - Casper (commercial program although a 30-day trial version is available.)

so currently I have been having the same problem. I tried to extend the volume but I won't let me. Thanks for the help.

Looks like I have a whole other problem. I can only boot up when I set my boot drive as my old one. When I set to boot on my new cloned drive that's when it says bootmgr is missing. Any help would be appreciated.

would it be easier if I just erased the new drive then re cloned it? If so then I'll need a better program. I used reflect the last time and it didn't go smooth at all

You did a mistake there. You converted cloned drive to dynamic.

• 1. Clean your 2TB drive;
  2. Repeat the cloning;
  3. Delete recovery partition;
  4. Do not delete "Windows Reserve" partition, but mark it as active;
  5. use bcdboot command to fix bootloader

syntax is:

• bcdboot x:\windows /s y:

(x: - windows partition; y: - bootloader partition "Windows Reserve")

1. SkyNetRising is correct re the problem with your creating a Dynamic disk.

2. But I believe if you simply repeat the disk-cloning operation (after using DiskPart to "clean' the Dynamic 2 TB disk as suggested by SNR) you will most likely resolve the problem, as follows...

3 You can use the Macrium Reflect program to carry out the disk-cloning operation. (We're assuming that when the 1 TB boot drive is the ONLY drive connected in the system the system will boot & function without any problems.)

4. So connect the 2 TB "destination" HDD and clone the contents of the 1 TB boot drive.

5. NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT...after an apparent successful disk-cloning operation DISCONNECT the "source" drive, i.e, the 1 TB HDD, and boot ONLY with the newly-cloned 2 TB HDD connected.

6. Hopefully the 2 TB HDD will become your new boot drive; work with it for a while before connecting your 1 TB HDD (as a secondary drive) to ensure no problems.
