how do i make my pc find previous games

hi, i recently did a fresh install of windowns but left all my games on other drives in my pc, stea, and origin are saying i need to download the games even though i know they aare already downloaded, is there a way to make steam and origin find the games?

Try clicking add a non steam game, browse to your other drive and manually adding them.

Most games store data in the Windows registry. When you do a clean install, you create a new registry. So what you need to do is to reinstall those games, so that they can get their data added back into the registry.

For Steam, open the main interface and go to --> settings --> download --> change folder. Just add the folder where your old Steam games are and it'll recognize them.

With steam there is an option to add a game so it is shown in it.

Add to games library.

The problem is this with games you have installed previously with Steam or Origin, both catalogue the games you have in your digital download lockers, and apply there own short cut to the game linked through the apps used.

Steam ID: for each steam game title.
If when you downloaded and installed the game by digital download to another drive other than C:\ program files\ steam.

For example setting the download and install to for example D:\ games\ game title .

Then as long as you have the latest version of direct x installed on your system or any other program such as Microsoft visual that a game may require when running, and the game save directory was also created on the target install drive and path.

Then you can simply enter the folder of the drive the game was installed too.
And by right clicking on the main exe file to launch the game create a short cut file that will place it on the windows desktop.

Once done you can launch each game from windows desktop by simply clicking on the short cut you created to the main exe that resides on the drive and path the game was installed too derf111.
