The ask becuase my XP machine is on Dell SP2, with all updates, but for some reason it dosn't seem to be detecting SP3 to download. I did some googling and the closest thing I got to a manual SP3 from microsoft is an ISO image.

Now, I wanted the latest version of the ISO, so I can burn it once and pack it away in my software collection. How do I verify if any updates where made after this? If any, where can I find them in an ISO format? (or even in a AIO download file. One file for the latest SP3.)

Thanks!

PS:

Anyone have any idea what this is?

No, it's just the full version of SP3. When it's installed through Windows Updates, only the required parts are downloaded.

quik bump once again. Any ideas why moneysoft states this on the download page of the exe:

DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD IF YOU ARE UPDATING JUST ONE COMPUTER: A smaller, more appropriate download is now available on Windows Update. The best way to ensure you get Windows XP Service Pack 3 is by turning on the Automatic Updates feature in Windows XP.

Does this mean that the Sp3 that I download via the exe is some sort of an extra resource hog or something?

Grumpy is correct. Its designed or IT pros. Download it once and run it on 2 dozen machines. It works just as well on 1 as on 20. Its just usually overkill for a person looking to upgrade one machine once.

You just download it, which takes forever if your connection is slow, double click, and it handles just like the windows update version.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Although, I do have a question, useally when windows updates to SP3, it will give me MP11 and all the other goodies, in this update however, that never happened. Any ideas why a few things were left out?

I see, no worries, I'll just have to download that to the disc seperatly. Was anything else missed out that I should know off? I'm making a set of all my Windows XP goodies, and wanted to keep as much as possible on 1 disc.

Thanks.

Simply head over to microsofts page and search for SP3. Find the one that best matches your computer and download it. If your running Windows 7 - download that version of SP3.

Just what we need! Another Newbie that thinks he knows it all. The is no SP3 for W7. There's not even SP1 yet. Only Windows XP has SP3. Vista is SP2.
