I'm down to about 39% charge left on my remote control for my Samsung LS27C902PAUXXU 5K Viewfinity S9 27" Monitor, so now is the time to start thinking about replacing the battery. Trouble is that there seems to be no easy way to open the device to replace the batteries, which I assume are of the mini watch style.

I've seen a couple of YT videos with solutions ranging from butter knives to hi-grip chamois-leather gloves (I kid you not 😉). I would prefer a more reliable solution, so if anyone could enlighten me I would be really grateful!

I think I have managed to extend the life of the battery by disabling the auto-switch on the monitor, since the only time I use the remote is to press OK when I reactivate the screen, but I would be much more reassured if I were prepared for the inevitable demise of my battery 😉

I have no experience of that particular device, though opening cases of electronics has become increasingly challenging. I use these. Hopefully, kinder to the plastics than a butter knife! Something which you kinda appreciate when it comes to putting the item back together again.

UPDATE: Problem solved! Turns out that the remote on a Samsung Viewfinity S9 uses rechargeable batteries, and the strange little hole at the opposite end to the sensor, is, in fact a USB-C socket. Happily I happen to have a USB-C cable plugged into one of the ports of the Samsung itself. So, I am now using the Samsung monitor to charge its own remote control device 😉

Thanks for the suggestions, folks 🙏🏽
