How do I play a cd movie on my asus laptop

I want to know how to set up my asus laptop for a movie cd

Insert the disc into the CD drive and it will launch the default media player.

Kind of need to know what disk player you have and what format it can play.

Are you talking about a VCD (Video CD)?

It is a pretty old format that just about any free video player should be able to playback. I generally use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC) to play videos.
