How do I play sound through my mic?

Solution
Unless you have a USB microphone which has speakers on it (not even sure they exist, but anyways...), it is not recommended. Technically, a microphone can act as a speaker but they are not designed to handle that sort of power and you'll damage it. Just use speakers or headphones.

You can not. It is against the laws of physics and this forum does not support or advocate behavior that is against the laws of physics.

Those laws are pretty tough to beat too, unless of course you happen to have a warp drive. 😉

In theory, you can play 'sound' from a mic. It's just a resonant membrane with magnets, like a speaker.

You'd have reverse wire it, and ramp the power WAY down. It would probably sound like a cockroach walking across the floor...scratchscratchscratch.
But 'sound' would come out. Wouldn't be music, though.

Unless you were a cockroach.

Hello there, people of the interwebz ! :)
Are those troll answers ? I have the same question, and it may be just an english phrasing error ? I don't know.

If I'm correct, what this guy wants (as it looks like what I'm searching too), is getting an mp3 sample to be played virtually through the recording input, the kind of pre-recorded bits used by some streamers on twitch, or just playing a playlist in the background. This without having to play it through your stereo, which basically is just torture for the listener.

I want this for crystal clear, fast teamplay basic informations for competitive gaming. You know, so you can just focus on the game and press maccros on your keyboard in the middle of action !

Thanks in advance !

It is unclear exactly what the OP actually wants. And as he has not been back for over a month, we may never know.

This sounds physically impossible, unless you are not explaining what you want clearly.

I don't know any friend able to do this. It seemed like a good idea for my tactical gaming experience, to be able to say stuff like "Go back !" or "Someone is flanking us !" just by pressing a key, without having to actually say it everytime with my not-so-good english.

The idea came to me after I've seen live-streamers on Twitch.tv doing this kind of thing, like having a music playlist in the background, or just random funny samples to be played live. Not through the actual microphone, I guess, it. Nor the video recording... my technical knowledge won't go further to describre the kind of software I'm looking for.

Thanks to you two for taking the time to respond :)

I kept trying different keywords and probably found something. VoiceMeeter, seems to be the answer ! Maybe used additionnaly with a classic sample software.

Reading that page looks like this might help. I am looking at this, we haven't forgotten about you.

IT is possible to play music thru your mic if you don't have a mic, Its really simple on windows 10 😛. All you need to do is just go to your settings -> Manage Audio Devices -> Recording -> and then look for your stereo device

Although it is hard enough to play music through a mic if you own said microphone, it would be nearly impossible to play music through a mic if you don't have access to any mics. How do you explain that?
