How do I prevent winows from loggin out to the welcome wit..

I am frustrated when windows keeps logging back out of the desktop to the
Welcome Screen when i have not been active on my account for a whil;e. The
reason I'm mad is because some of the programs I use wil not continue to work
if windows has been logged out to the welcome screen....How do I prevent this?
