The title pretty much says it all. I have an HP Probook with Conexant sound, and it keeps retrieving an old update for installation. I get this message: "Conexant - MEDIA - 7/3/2018 12:00:00 AM - 8.65.262.0" followed by "Install error - 0x80070103" every time it tries to install. It then appears again in the queue. How do I remove it?

hp software distribution is pushed from HP software, which loads at startup, I would do a search in windows for " startup apps " and "disable the hp software that loads on boot. this will disable it and get rid of HP bloatware. all you need to do is check yourself on their website from time to time if there is an update, they usually don't update the drivers for hardware after 6 months old system as they are focused on something else.

I looked into all of the above, and nothing is working (I also asked MS directly through their community and got useful though ineffective help). This is more of an annoyance than anything else. The PC in question is a Probook 430 G3, which is ineligible for Windows 11 (so, of course, I installed it 😉). It works like a top but has this annoying Conexant driver (which is old and - apparently - related to Windows 10) pop up all the time. Somehow, I was able to get rid of the nagging in the 2021 versions of Windows 11, but it has resurfaced in Windows 11 22H2 (simply because I had to do a clean install). Any other ideas? Not a "showstopper" but I'd really like to get rid of it.
