How do i remove write-protect on my usb flash drive stick DANE-ELEC 4GB

at first whne i tried to save pics or texture to it said was write protected so i ran check disk on it after that when i click on it says its not formatted when i tried to for mat it i get another popup window saying its write-protected , My computer is a Acer Aspire6930 with windows vista home on it........ HELP!! DRIVING ME NUTS
 
Solution
Look for a small switch on the stick. If there is none, it may have just gone bad if you can't format it.

You can try to use a program called gparted http://gparted.org/ to partition and format the drive, that may work. Or possibly a Linux Live disk, create one (look online for instructions), boot from it and see if you can format the disk from Linux.

if you're not so familiar with regedit , you can download this 80 ko basic program here :
http://www.mediafire.com/download/a491cg5mc1o10c4/simpleprotector.exe
you just download it, open it as it is, then an options menu should pop up asking to enter a number according to the list, just read and choose one, for your probleme it should be number 2 to disable it , or number 3 to make it unset [will most likely disable it] , enter the number, hit enter, a message should pop up saying "Operation succeeded" , reinsert your usb drive and it should work :D
