so i have a computer with a r7 260 1gb, (my original graphics card burnt up...)
and i have a 144hz FHD 40" tv, and i have some sort of vga cable (option to use dhmi ofcourse)
so can i run 144 hz at all ? since after what i have done i can only get it to run 60hz, i think this is becuase i am using a VGA cable... can someone please help me here, the question is if i can even run 144hz at the r7 260, and if so, can i use a vga cable or nah ?

Solution
No vga wont do 144hz and neither will HDMI (i think) im pretty sure HDMI will top out at 120hz. DVI-D or display port is what you want for 144hz. And as far as the r7 260 it probably wont hit 144fps in very many games to utilize all of that 144hz maybe in very easy to run games like counter strike GO or something you might get close to 144fps but on most games you will not.
TV's doesnt support refresh rated above 50/60hz. it is just a marketing trick! the use interpolation methods for smoother playback! your gpu isnt the problem! in monitors, hdmi(depending version) can handle higher than 60hz but in lower than 1080p res. dvi dual link can do 120/144hz

Im sorry but that's not how you treat a person who tries to help you with this. If you continue on with that attitude nobody will help you at all

i can understand that it can be irritating but the fact is that tv's doesnt have 120/144hz native support. as previously stated, you would also need dvi dual link or displayport. vga cannot do. hdmi 2.0 will. there are tv's stated as 400hz. do you really think it is possible? if yours can/will please let blur buster know! http://www.blurbusters.com/overclock/120hz-pc-to-tv/
