Since i have ordered the upgrades to my PC including the FX-8350, i wanted to know if the MSI 970A-G46 mobo will need a BIOS update in order to properly support the CPU? Because i have heard horror stories about people who used that CPU on my mobo and both went up in smoke or just stopped working altogether. If so, how do i safely update without bricking it?

In case you were curious OR if it helps, here are the parts i ordered. All of these will be inside a Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid sized case on the MSI 970A-G46:

Also, i do NOT overclock. I don't see a reason too, but i am excited for the day they arrive!

UPDATE: I already have a CPU Cooler. Its the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus.

MSI 970A-G46 with FX-8350 and FX-6300 need v2.2 bios version.Your bios version is v2.4,it will work for sure:)

I forgot to mention that i already have an aftermarket cooler. Like you said, it's the Hyper 212 Plus.

Since your a Motherboard expert, are you super sure that i won't need to update the BIOS?

I remember before that the FX-8350 wasn't supported by the mobo, but now it is: http://www.msi.com/support/mb/970A-G46.html#support-cpu

Though, i'd probably help if i looked up my BIOS version and see if i really need to or not. I'll check back later and respond again when i find my BIOS version.
