How do I set my new SSD drive as my Windows 10 Boot Drive

I currently have a 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive and I am looking to add a ~250GB SSD to my system. Only problem is, Windows 10 currently boots off of my 1TB 7200 RPM drive, so how do I get it to boot off of my new 250GB hard drive once I install it? Am I overthinking this and is it actually easy to do?

I know how to set boot priority, what I mean, is that Windows 10 is already running off of my 1TB hard drive. I want Windows 10 to boot off of my new SDD but to open files off of my 1TB HDD. Then after it is running fine, I will move the programs I use the most to the SSD so they will open faster. Do I have to reinstall Windows on my new SSD or can I "move" Windows off of my HDD?

As long as it is not too big, you can move your current windows install, to the SSD. You need some kind of software utility to do it, though. Some SSD's come with it. SSD installations don't take long, so you may want to just start out fresh.

Are you suggesting that I install Windows 10 on my new SSD like I would have if I just built my computer? If so, what would I do with the other version of Windows on my HDD and how would I be able to access my files via file explorer?

Yes, you could do it that way. You would still be able to access your files, on the HDD, using file explorer, just like you would if it were just a storage drive. Kinda all depends on what drive you bought, and how much data is being used on your HDD. If your current windows install partition is too big, you won't be able to copy it over.
