How do I tell if my motherboard can fit this CPU and 8gb more RAM I have?

The motherboard I have is this: M5A78L-M LX V2 http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LM_LX_V2/specifications/)

How do I know if this can fit on my motherboard and also how can I install it?

Go for it, they are compatible, take in consideration that u have only 2 dimm slots so you cant equip more then 2 ram sticks (max 8 GB each). If u want upgrade advice post your current configuration and budget pls.

Hello, so I can only fit two sticks on? At the moment I'm not sure if I have 2x4GB of ram, how can I check? (I have 8GB Ram ATM)

Install speccy and at RAM it should say what is the number and size of ram, if it says 4 slots in total it may be a read error but i saw that your motherboard has 2 slots so it should says how many slots it is occupied that is correct.

Damn it.. all slots are used up..

So. What about the CPU? How can I install it and you said that the CPU I chose will fit in the motherboard?

The CPU will be compatible with the motherboard if they have the corresponding CPU socket. Your mobo is a AM3+ socket board, and your CPU is also AM3+.
