Question How do I trick my device to go on Tor browser?

I think I worded that right, apologies if I did not. I have heard about the Tor browser and I want to check it out. I plan on going to a local coffee shop to do this, as I don't want to use my isp. Is there anything I should do to my tablet/laptop to ensure it's still safe when I get back home?

it is a browser. use it when you want to use it. it doesn't install anything else(download from the official site)
